As of August 1 2010, Renton Community Credit Union is merging with TwinStar Credit Union.
TwinStar is pleased to welcome members of the Renton Community Credit Union to our TwinStar family. The Renton Community Credit Union Board of Directors chose TwinStar because of a geographic fit and to make a wide range of financial services available to you.
RCCU members should know that TwinStar also shares a member focused philosophy with Renton Community Credit Union that we think you’ll recognize right away. TwinStar Credit Union was founded at Olympia High School back in 1937. Today, we serve more than 78,000 people, most of them in Western Washington. Merging two financial institutions involves hundreds of details and small steps that should culminate in a smooth and nearly transparent process for you. Here are some of the important dates and milestones.
New member numbers. At the close of business on July 31, 2010 RCCU accounts will be transferred to the TwinStar system. You can access your accounts by calling 800.258.3115, visiting any TwinStar branch, or online at www.TwinStarCU.com. (Learn about TwinStar CU Online Banking.) Remember, you can access any TwinStar branch office as of Monday, August 2, 2010. Look for your new member number via US Mail on or about July 26.
Loan payments. Beginning Monday, August 2, 2010, please make loan payments to TwinStar. Automatic payments will remain the same and no action is required. Payments can also be made in any TwinStar branch, by calling our Contact Center at the above number or by initiating a transfer on the internet via online banking. Payments can also be mailed to TwinStar Credit Union, PO Box 718, Olympia WA 98507. TwinStar will not re-issue coupon books for loan payments.
Direct payments or deposits. Once you receive your new credit or debit card(s), it is important to notify any third parties that regularly debit or credit your account (insurance, health club, utilities, etc.) of your new credit card number. If you have a direct deposit of pay to your savings or checking account, please notify the payroll agent at your employer of your new member number and TwinStar’s routing number, which is 325181015.
Visa® credit card accounts. Your Renton Community CU Visa® credit card will be active until midnight July 31. On August 1, 2010 all Renton Community Credit Union Visa® credit card accounts will convert to TwinStar Visa® accounts. You will receive your new TwinStar Visa® credit card on or before July 29, 2010. If you do not receive your new TwinStar credit card on or before July 29, 2010, please call 800.258.3115 or stop by one of our branch offices. You will be mailed your new Personal Identification Number (PIN), Visa® credit card agreement and disclosure a few days later. When you receive your TwinStar Credit Union Visa® credit card, please activate it using the accompanying instructions and destroy your old card as soon as possible.
Branch openings. On August 2, 2010, you will be able to visit any branch in the TwinStar network. Account lookup can be completed by name or by member number. Please watch our website for any updated information regarding branch availability for Renton Community Credit Union members. TwinStar will operate 22 branches with the inclusion of the Renton branch. Wherever you go, from Vancouver to Tacoma, you’re not far from a TwinStar branch location. Branch hours. The branch hours will be 9:00 am – 5:30 p.m. Monday – Friday. You will continue to see the same friendly faces assisting you with all of your financial needs at the Renton branch office.
Checking accounts. The checks you have will continue to be honored until October 31, 2010. All RCCU checking accounts will be converted to TwinStar’s Basic Checking account, with the exception of RCCU Market Checking accounts. Market Checking will be converted to Money Market Savings. Please note that this account type does not have checks. On or after August 2, 2010 please call or visit one of our branches to order your 1st box of FREE TwinStar standard image checks. When you receive them, please destroy your old checks. TwinStar offers several checking accounts, including the revolutionary Accelerator checking, where you earn high dividends just for using our electronic services.
Debit cards. If you currently have a Renton Community Credit Union Visa® debit card, you can expect to receive a replacement TwinStar Credit Union Visa® debit card on or before July 29, 2010. A Personal Identification Number (PIN) will be sent under separate cover a few days later. When you receive your TwinStar Credit Union Visa® debit card, please activate it using the accompanying instructions and destroy your old card as soon as possible. Your Renton Community Credit Union debit card will continue to be active until midnight July 31, 2010. If you do not have a Visa® debit card but would like one, please contact us at 1.800.235.3115 or visit any TwinStar branch after August 2.
Fees and disclosures. The TwinStar fee schedule, and all other applicable terms and conditions, will be in effect on August 1, 2010. (Review fees and disclosures.)
Statements and dividends. Renton Community Credit Union will send your final statement including dividends ending July 31, 2010. TwinStar pays dividends monthly (as opposed to quarterly). You’ll receive dividends on August 30, 2010 and monthly thereafter.
Deposit insurance. Your accounts at TwinStar Credit Union are insured to $250,000 each by the National Credit Union Administration, the strongest of all deposit institution insurance funds.
