HISTORY

Renton Community Credit Union was established in 1939 by a group of Kenworth employees who were having trouble getting the loans they needed from local banks, so these employees decided to start their own credit union and be on the receiving end of the benefits of a not-for-profit institution!

As the trucking company grew and moved locations, so did the credit union, which brought us all to the City of Renton in 1993.  By 2009 the credit union relocated to the heart of Renton and discovered we were the only credit union “headquartered” within the City.  Since both churches and small businesses have seen how we have served Kenworth employees for the past 70 years they wanted us to offer them the same quality of service, as well as friends and neighbors, which lead us to the natural decision to embrace the community around us by changing our name to Renton Community Credit Union!

Since our humble beginnings in 1939 we have grown to offer more than a savings account, we offer checking accounts, certificates of deposit, VISA credit cards, VISA debit cards, Visa pre-paid debit cards, mortgage loans, second mortgages, Christmas club accounts, and have competitive loan rates.  Plus we offer over 22,000 shared branching locations world-wide to choose from.  Just having branches of your credit union wherever you work, vacation, relocate, or retire is the answer!  We are here to serve you and the hard-working people who are respectful of this beautiful city we call home.

HOW TO BELONG

We invite you to join our family and enjoy a truly different financial institution…one that places members first and offers personal service.  An initial deposit of $10.00 into your savings account with a copy of your photo identification opens your account.  If you live, work or worship within a Washington State school district you are eligible to be a member.
